#INTIMISSIMICARES. The journey into eco-sustainability continues..

Intimissimi continues its journey to eco-sustainability, embarking down a winding, green path leading to the heart of its SS 2021 Collection.

Items in the Nature's Dream range feature an abundance of luxurious details, along with vegetable-dyed lace made from recycled yarn.

In the past, vegetable dyes could only be used on natural fibres, but thanks to a breakthrough dying procedure, even the recycled yarns used to make this line's lace can be dyed with colours deriving from plants.

This is done through the use of chlorophyll extract, a concentrated natural dye obtained from alfalfa, nettle and other edible plants, along with warm, brown chestnuts and walnuts, due to the gallic acid and tannins they contain.

In terms of sustainable development and respect for the environment, this procedure significantly cuts down on water usage, among other things, especially in the finishing stage, when natural fabric softeners are used, further minimising environmental impact.

The romantic, sophisticated Nature's Dream line features refined, enveloping cuts that are enhanced by a particularly delicate colour palette, including natural shades such as sand and mint.

Items available in sand include a two-toned bodysuit and a padded triangle bra with underbust band that can be combined with classic or Brazilian briefs. The line also features a lace bra top and blouse that can be worn as outwear, adding a glamorous touch to any springtime look. These two items are available in the light shades characteristic of walnut dyes, which is due to the presence of cecidium, a growth on a plant caused by insect bites.

Intimissimi's bestselling Elena lace balconette bra is featured in a brand new shade — a delicate mint green obtained by extracting chlorophyll from chestnut and walnut plants. Intimissimi offers it with elegant, matching high-waisted knickers.

Each #intimissimicares garment has its own dedicated label that transparently and accurately reports the materials in it with the lowest environmental impact.
